I moved the site to a new hosting provider. Things seem to load quicker, which wasn't really why I switched, but it's a nice bonus. Please let me know if you run into any problems. Thanks!

I've decided to try out some new blog software that uses a database rather than raw files to store blog content. In theory, there should be some performance improvements. We shall see. At some point, I will be porting over all the old content to the new system. For the time being, though, you can see the old stuff by clicking here.

Update! The old site has been ported and seems to be pretty much intact.

I will not be updating the site again until Monday. Enjoy the elephants.

I was recently made aware of issues related to the site's performance. I am told that it can be painfully slow to post captions, load the site's content, etc. I hope it isn't too frustrating for people. I will look into improving the speed, but I don't know that there's much I can do without completely switching to new blog software and/or hosting providers. I may end up doing so.

If you are interested in seeing improvements, please post here any experiences, thoughts, etc. here that might be relevant. Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience!
